Off white lace vintage wedding gown. C. 1960. Has stiffening
at hem to hold skirt out. Ruffled collar might be able to be removed to update the gown if you wish to. The collar has two
hooks and sewn eyes at the back. There is sequined detail at the front under the bust. Metal zipper at back of
under dress. The under dress could be faille fabric. The gown is one piece consisting of a structured under dress and a lace overdress.
The measurements of the under dress are: Bust 34". Waist 30".
Hip 40". No size label. Possibly size 4. This part of the wedding gown is sleeveless. The lace overdress has long sleeves
with ruffled edge and snap closure are 17" from underarm to wrist. The length of the gown from underarm to hem at side seam
is 48". The back is longer ending in a sweep train. There is almost no seam allowances to let out. The lace overdress
is loose and does not hug the body except for the front bodice. The back is open over the zipper closing with a sewn eye which
has a missing hook. This gown has a unique back detail. Lace is pleated from the back collar across the back giving the illusion
of the train starting at the top of the back of the gown. It is called a watteau train. I tried to give you a good photo of
what the back looks like because it is rare. Photos were taken with additional pouf slip which is not included
in the sale.
The gown is clean. No defects were found except as noted above.
